The Tequila Sunrise cocktail! The Tequila Sunrise has a bright color that screams summer since it is made with tequila, orange juice, and grenadine syrup, which gives the drink its red hue. One of the greatest tequila cocktails, it’s dangerously simple to sip and incredibly revitalizing!

Sunrise tequila

Is it only me who wonders why it’s called a Tequila Sunrise when it resembles a sunset just as much, if not more? Is it more appropriate to drink these?

This is one of the most well-known Tequila Cocktails, next to margaritas, not to mention the name. Because tequila and orange go so well together, it’s a revitalizing beverage that even those who dislike tequila will like. The tequila is completely undetectable!

What ingredients are included in a Tequila Sunrise?

  • You’ll need the following ingredients to make this deceptively promising cocktail:
  • Tequila – use one that’s in the middle of the pricing range, which in Australia is between $40 and $50. Save the nicer stuff for sipping! use Jose Cuervo, one of the best mid-range Mexican tequilas;
  • The fresher the orange juice, the better! Avoid the sugary, reconstituted version that has a lot of extra sugar.
  • Grenadine syrup is a red, sugary, non-alcoholic syrup produced from concentrated pomegranate juice. This is the reason Tequila Sunrise is red; see below for further explanation.

Why is the Tequila Sunrise red?

The signature red sunrise effect is achieved by simply pouring Grenadine in. When added to the tequila-orange juice, it sinks to the bottom since it’s a thick syrup.

Use the back of a teaspoon to drizzle the syrup down the side of the glass in order to get the “cleanest” sunrise effect, which is red on the bottom and orange on top.

Otherwise, just pour it straight from the bottle down the inside of the glass.

If you simply pour it in the middle of the glass, the orange juice will become more discolored.

Garnishes

  • And this is the typical garnish for Tequila Sunrises:
  • orange pieces; and
  • Maraschino Cherries are available at Dan Murphys in Australia! If you can’t locate them, simply use regular glace cherries from the baking section of supermarkets; they don’t have stems, but they still look great!

Strength

There is one part tequila to two parts orange juice in every beverage. As opposed to a “short drink,” such as whisky on ice, a “long drink” is defined as one with a comparatively big volume. Comparatively to other drinks, tequila Sunrises are less powerful.

However, because they are so revitalizing and the alcohol is undetectable, it is all too simple to consume large amounts of them!

When to Serve a Tequila Sunrise

Prepare Tequila Sunrises by the pool throughout the summer for events with a tropical theme, or whenever you want to cheer things up. by beginning the celebration with a lively and colorful beverage!

Because it’s not excessively strong, it’s a smart beverage to serve at outdoor events on warm summer days (dehydration and potent). Cocktails are always a bad idea!
